How Barqish Practice works
Honest fills, no fantasy profits
- Market orders fill at the latest price on the Barqish server, not at a price you pick. They are only accepted while that market is open.
- Limit, stop, stop-loss and target orders are checked against real candles that formed after you placed them, even when you are offline. If price gaps past your level, you get the opening price, just like a real exchange.
- If a stop-loss and a target are both touched in the same candle, the stop-loss is filled first. We assume the worse outcome so practice never flatters you.
- Estimated trading costs are charged on every fill: crypto 0.10%, US stocks 0.05%, PSX 0.25% (commission and taxes), gold and silver 0.08%, major currencies 0.03%, rupee and Gulf currencies 0.40% (exchange-company spread).
- Crypto uses live Binance spot prices. US stocks, PSX, metals and currencies use delayed data; the source is shown next to every price.
Halal by design
Barqish Practice follows the same rules we teach. You can only buy with cash you have and sell what you own: no leverage, no margin, no short selling and no interest. Every instrument shows its Shariah screening (Compliant, Questionable or Non-compliant) before you trade, and trading questionable or non-compliant assets lowers your Shariah care score. Gold, silver and currencies are practised as spot exchanges, hand to hand, as bay al-sarf requires.

Questions
Is this real money?
No. Barqish Practice uses virtual money only. Barqish is not a broker, never holds your funds and never asks for exchange passwords.
Can I choose how much practice money I start with?
Yes. Choose the currency (Pakistani rupees or US dollars) and any amount from Rs 100,000 to Rs 10,000,000, or $1,000 to $100,000. Practise with the amount you would really invest, so the numbers feel real.
Why can I not sell something I do not own?
Selling what you do not own (short selling) and trading with borrowed money involve riba, gharar or selling what is not in your possession, which most scholars reject. Barqish teaches and practises spot ownership only.
Why did my limit order not fill?
A limit buy fills only when a real candle trades at or below your price after you placed the order. Being close is not enough, exactly as on a real exchange. Pending orders expire after 30 days unless you choose otherwise.
How is the Sabr score calculated?
Out of 100: risk control 30 (stop-loss on every entry, risk of 2% or less), drawdown control 25, process 20 (a written reason, no revenge trading, no overtrading, no widened stops), Shariah care 15 and risk-adjusted result 10. Profit alone can never give a high score.
Does a good practice record mean I will profit with real money?
Not necessarily. Real money brings fear and greed that practice cannot fully copy, and markets change. Practice builds the habits that protect you; it does not guarantee results. Nothing on Barqish is a recommendation to buy or sell.
Can I reset my account?
Yes, any practice account can be reset with a new amount. Sabr Challenge accounts cannot be reset, which keeps the monthly challenge fair.
